A7V600-X SATA HDD Cannot ditect

Hi'

I replaced my IDE HDD to SATA HDD due to crash. my A7V600-X mother board does not ditect SATA HDD in bios
or  I am unable to install OS in it.


these are the steps i took

i went to my  BIOS setup, locate Boot ->Other Boot Device, set to [SCSI/onboard ATA Boot Device]. Then, press <+> to move the device up the list and save & exit BIOS


can any one help me to boot my pc from SATA HDD

Are you installing Windows 2000 or Windows XP, if so when you boot to the cd press the F6 key and load the drivers for your SATA hard drive.  You may first have to go to the hard drive manufacturers website and download the drivers.

when i went to manufacturer site this is what they say


Our hard disk drives use the disk controller device drivers that are embedded within the operating system. Therefore, you don't need to download a driver. We do not provide these drivers separately, since the driver is already included as part of the operating system.

my problem is SATA HDD doesnt ditect in bios level for me to install the OS XP

my hdd specs are

HITACH deskstar 80 GB SATA
MODEL NO     HDS728080PLA380

problem still remains

Do you have the hard drive connect to two cables (a power cable and a Serial cable)?  Some motherboards have built in SATA RAID controllers, if you have it plugged into a SATA RAID controller on the motherboard and the RAID disabled it may not detect it.  Which model is your motherboard?  Also, try plugging the hard drive into a different SATA port and see if it is detected.
