Thanks puter_geek for your response. I resolved the problem by updating the driver from CD provided by HP packet PC.

We are experiencing difficulty to make HP packet PC to connect with XP (SP 2) using Active Sync 3.7 or 3.8. In device manager we see that there is yellow (!) mark under Other devices->Generic RNDIS. So, I am trying to install drivers for it. I found some drivers at http://www.microsoft.com/w

Is there a setup.exe that come with the driver. try running that instead of using windows hardware installer.
