Thanks Smiffy - that's as far as I got!
I'll leave it open for a while to see what happens.

I took a wireless card that worked in another Windows XP Pro machine and it in my own Windows XP Pro machine. But I don't have the driver for it so it doesn't work on my machine. Here are the details on the physical card:
WLG-1202/E
FCC ID: NHPWLG1202
S/N: 0535A1000109
CE0470
but I can't seem to be locate a driver on the web.
Could you guys?
Or, is there an easy way of getting the driver off the other machine it was working on?
Many thanks in advance,
S

Put it in a machine that it works fine in.
Go into device manager.
Write down the name Windows uses to ID the part.
(This may help in searching for drivers.)
Next, in device manager, left click on the device and select "Properties".
In the next window select "Driver".
That will tell you what driver it is using on that computer.
--- It will also tell you who authored the driver.
If it's not Microsoft look for a support site for whoever built the driver.
If it is Microsoft you may only need to run Windows Update on the affected computer.

After a google search the model WLG-1202/E appears to be made by an Italian company called Cubik. "MECOX is owner of brand CUBIK" http://www.mecox.com/home_ eng.php as the site does not seem to offer downloads of drivers and if no-one else on EE can help, I'd email the sites technical help info@mecox.com
