I recently purchased a 9 pin parallel port card. When i plugged it into my ATI motherboard my OS (Windows XP x64) was unable to install the device.
I read a recent thread about PCI Simple Comms. Controller and apparently that has to do with a modem/network adapter, however i assure you that when i remove the parallel port card the PCI Simple Comm. Controller dissapears from the Device Manager.
I do not know the manufacturer and usually when this is the case i go into the registry and look up the PCI info. In this particular case the device info is as follows : PCI\VEN_9710&DEV_9835&SUBS
pcidatabse.com does not know what device is therefore i'm having a hard time finding a driver to install the card.
I have a CD that came with the card however there are thousands of drivers on the CD and none of them appear to work with a x64 OS.
Thanks a million to whoever can bail me out of this one!
