On most desktop pcs there will usually be 2 sets of jumpers one to reset bios defaults usually by the battery or cmos chip and another to reset the bios password. After looking at the diagram for the motherboard for the presario 6000 it seems to lack the password jumper. You could contact them to see if they have a master password but if its like their laptops you would have to pay to send it in to get it cleared (even if its under warranty). The only other option would be to replace the motherboard. Many systems (laptops and desktops) store bios passwords in nvram (non-volitile ram) which does not lose information when power is lost. That would be why removing the cmos battery will rarely reset a bios password. It usually has to be reset with a jumper or using a master password then disabling it or changing it in the bios.

Forgot to mention, I pushed the reset button while the battery was in the computer and also when it was out of the computer. I also tried it with the different jumpers as well.
