There's been some success reported using BartPe and the current driver download.

I am having the same issues with the 755's. I finally got the nic drivers working. Now ghost is not recognizing the cd rom at all! Any way to get the nic driver, I extracted it from the resource cd that came with the 755. After unpacking the driver, it auto start the installation, which I canceled. Put the drivers in a folder somewhere and name it. Then when you go thru the ghost boot wizard, network boot package, hit add, select NDIS driver, and go out and find the drivers. You will have to give it a driver name, any name, hit ok, next, next, etc, create the diskettes. It comes up as e1000.dos, but it looks to be different than the original e1000 dos driver. I tried the original e1000 dos driver and it did not work.
I just spent about 15 hours going through this. Masqueraide is on the mark as far as the nic driver goes if you don''t mind increasing your footprint and using bart. Pay attention to to a post near the bottom by itxxiv.

That's the problem I was having, that BartPE was not copying all the NIC files over during the build. Once I had the correct modified files it worked like a dream.
Here are the files you will need to get it to work:
- E1E5132MOD.CAT
- e1e5132MOD.din
- E1e5132MOD.inf
- e1e5132MOD.sys
- NicCoMOD.dll
- NicEtCoEMOD.dll
- NicInstEMOD.dll
- ProunstlMOD.exe
These drivers have been modified for the Dell Optiplex GX755 because of two problems:
1. PEBUILDER would not copy the driver files after reading the inf.
The inf has been modified to correct this.
Changing:
[Manufacturer]
%Intel% = Intel, NTx86.5.1, NTIA64, NTAMD64, NTx86.6.0
TO:
[Manufacturer]
%Intel% = Intel, NTx86.5.1
2. The drivers conflict with the Profile 6 drivers.
To correct this I have renamed the driver files and references to them in the inf.
---
Example: "e1e5132.sys" was renamed "e1e5132MOD.sys" and a 'replace all' was
performed in the inf to change the references to the file.
--------------------------
After that, it worked great. Also, I had no problems with it reading the cd drive going that way.
I finally got this working with ghost 8, recognizing the nic, (using the e1000.dos driver from the Dell cd) and cd rom drive, (using the gcdrom.sys driver, from website listed here. Please see link here for more details,

Dell 3rd level technical support was no help.
thank you, good luck.
You can contac Symantec Ghost support. They gave emailed me the E1000.dos file to use with GSS 1.0 and 2.0. Their is a known issue with the drivers you download from Dell and intel. The one from Symantec has been working for 4 months without a single failure. Wait a minute here it is....... (-:
Just rename it to .dos and use the boot wizard.
When using the ghost cast to create the boot image make sure the driver name is set to e1000$ the default setting incorrectly uses $ with no driver specified. I noticed you have to put it in manually. That seemed to fix the binding issue I had. (this is in the wizard and you can use MODIFY to make sure its set correcty)
