Hi,
I am considering purchasing a new desktop PC and found this computer here:
http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/58_5612.htmIt only costs $1000 australian dollars and seems to me to be a rather powerful pc for that money. I do however have a few questions regarding its technical specifications;
1) Will this computer have 9.6Ghz worth of processing power (4 x 2.4ghz)? And isn't that massive?
1b) What exactly will this '9.6ghz' or processing power do as opposed to my old system with 3ghz; what difference will I notice?
2) In the processor description it says it has an 8mb cache, 1066 MHz FSB...what does this mean and is that ok?
3) As for the graphics card is the NVIDIA Geforce 8600 card decent and is the 256MB DDR2 RAM separate from the other 2gb RAM meaning its a 256mb graphic card?
4) when it states the RAM is 'with 667 MHz at 64 Bit, Dual Channel Memory' is this good?
5)If I wanted to upgrade the 2gb ram would I typically find this easy on a computer such as this? For instance if I wanted to move to 3gb ram do these cheaper computers typically require a new ram 'card' or can another gb just be added
6)Is an integrated Wireless lan ieee 802.11n draft decent?
7) When it says 1 x LAN (RJ45) that means it has an ethernet port right?
8) Under the 'video/tv connections' title it mentions;
1 x DVI-I (incl. adaptor for D-Sub)
1 x HDMI
1 x TV out...What will these do?
9) Could this computer 'overheat' with that much processing power
10) Would it be possible to buy a black case for this computer down the line, is that something I can only get from the manufacturer?
11) (Edit: added question) Will it connect ok to this monitor that I have;
http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=computerperipherals&type=monitor&subtype=lcdmonitor&model_cd=LS22MEWSFV/XSA&fullspec=FSo following those questions I suppose the question is if I have not the time to build my own would this computer be a decent buy? And can anyone find any flaws with it? A general run down the list of specs and a critique on top of answering the questions would be swell.
I need to buy it tomorrow (in a few hours so I am going to assign 500 points to the question as I think that is 'urgent'; I hope thats ok) as apparently the demand will be high so any help or critique of the system would be very much appreciated and I do realise there are alot of questions. I am not into intensive graphic design but I want a computer that will not freeze up, will run multiple programs at the same time with performance to spare and provide a greater than average gaming experience with the latest FPS games.
