Greetings experts,
A Dell Dimension 4550 is crashing with the Blue Screen. I know it is not related to a specific software installed because I wiped the machine, and re-installed XP from scratch. It is NOT RANDOM, and it always gives the SAME BLUE screen and SAME error dump.
I tried reinstalling machine several times and it always crashes at Windows Setup, while windows is going through its 39 min installation. I restart the computer and its all fine from there.
I am now trying to Update a Sound Driver, and when I specify the location, it copies the files, and crashes while copying "alcrmv.exe". It crashes at this spot the 3rd time, however, I do not know if its related.
I replaced the memory module to a brand new Kingston PC2700 1GB, and replaced the HD with a brand new 80GB Western Digital IDE, replaced the graphics card as well.
Updated BIOS, Firmware, Intel Chipset. What else can it be??????????
Here is the dump:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters. Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select safe mode.
