M2N32 WS PRO NO POST, NO BEEP, BLANK SCREEN

Hi everyone! I have an Asus M2N32 WS Pro motherboard that I bought for the CPU in it (the board being reported as dead). I have taken the CPU out and inserted my old (working) AMD Athlon 64 3500+ CPU into it and have been trying to get it working.

Symptoms:
No POST, no beeps, nothing displayed on the monitor. The CPU chokes seem to warm up slightly and the southbridge as well. I've bought a cheap POST test card online, but it does not seem to be compatible with this motherboard, as it does not display any diagnosis codes, but the LED's do light. That is, it reports all the rails as working properly, but the FRAME and IRDY LED's stay off.

Can anyone give me any insights into what might be wrong, what my chances are of rescuing the board, what further options I have that I can try, etc?

Probably capacitors or voltage regulator module, are toasted.
Chances of reviving this mobo are not good, unless you are a mega electronichead.
You need major desolder/soldering skills, a really good volt/amp/ohm meter (oscilloscope is better), and an understanding of circuitry.

The caps' solder points aren't that tiny and I do have a volt meter, but I don't think it would be worth it to go through quite that much trouble. I thought I might get a free motherboard with my purchase, but its no real loss, since it is a pretty old board.. Oh well, thanks anyway for your time! I have heard only good things about this site and they seem to have been true. I will stay a member!
