CPU & System Fan Error - Cannot Access MEBx - Cannot Boot
This is a Sun Ultra 24 Workstation
The CPU and System fan spin at full speed all the time.
When the computer starts I get the following messages. (see attached)
In BIOS the following is displayed.(see attached)
I have updated the BIOS to version 1.5 but that didn’t fix the problem
I have tried accessing the MEBx (Management Engine BIOS Extension) but I don’t even get a prompt for pressing CTRL-P
I have run the diagnostics check from the 1.5 version DVD
I have turned off the computer, removed the BIOS battery for 10 minutes and replaced it.
Nothing works.
Any ideas?

The fans spin all the time no matter if you're in the BIOS or not.
It sounds like the board may be bad. It does not appear to be communicating thru the northbridge, causing the system errors and the inablity for your system to talk with BIOS. I am not 100% on this, but logically makes sense based on my experience. Sorry I couldnt be of more help. Good Luck!!

Armengar: As i said on my forst post, I have tried accessing the MEBx (Management Engine BIOS Extension) but I don’t even get a prompt for pressing CTRL-P
It should be noted that removing the battery is not always the same as physically resetting the BIOS (via the jumper).

Also, I have flashed the BIOS using the Sun Ultra 24 Workstation Tools and Drivers DVD v1.5 but that didn't work either

Do the fans spin at full speed in BIOS, or just when trying to boot to operating system? I am assuming you opened the case and observed the fans... what did you see? Could be a bad board as well. Let me know regarding the previous questions. Thanks.
