I have just recently been getting a MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION error on a PC I built myself so all of the parts are just 6 months old. I luckily stumbled on to the problem I think when I took the PC to my work bench and hooked it to a Dell 15 LCD, I didnt get anymore Blue Screens. So I figured it was the old 21 Dell CRT monitor that was the problem. I bought an Acer 22 widescreen LCD and hooked it up and got the machine check blue screen again - hooked it back up to the little Dell monitor and it works just fine. So my question is: are the bigger monitors taking up that much more resources that I should start troubleshooting maybe from scratch and look at memory, power supply, etc etc. or just assume the video card is the problem. Oh by the way it is a GeForce 7300 GT PCI express video card.
