Hi,
I am trying to get my Macbook pro to display on a television. I bought this cable:
http://www.amazon.com/EFORCITY-VGA-S-Video-RCA-Adaptor/dp/B000P3UB24but I neglected to read the note that says something about the graphics card supporting tv out directly through vga. I have connected it and get static, but I cannot find any information on the Geforce 8600M graphics card in the macbook pro that says whether or not this should work.
I did find this information written by a reviewer of Apple DVI to Video Adapter (what is the difference between this dvi to video cable and the cable that I bought?):
"""Apple ships computers with a DVI-I interface. This means it can out&Read moreput analogue or a digital signal hence why it works with adapters. Some PC's come with this interface but some come with DVI-D which only outputs a digital signal hence why adapter will not work.....also not sure if pc's video drivers are written to be aware of the DVI-I interface it is probable it only sees it as a DVI-D. """
So if it supports analog, then shouldn't the cable that I bought work?
My setup is that I am using the dvi to vga adaptor that came from apple with the computer and then plugging this new cable into that vga.
Thanks in advance for any insight on why this cable is not working or how I can get it to work.
