How do I send text to a CD5220 customer display?

I am trying to send text to a CD-5220 customer display using ESC/POS commands.  I have downloaded the manual and found the escape sequence to send text.  The text does actually get sent to the display, but only flashes for an instant and is then gone.  The sequence  am using is [1Bh] [51h][41h] text string [0Dh].   Would be grateful for any help as I'm supposed to be installing this thing tomorrow.Start Free Trial
