Windows XP Desktop Display problem

This is a strange one. Run Windows XP Pro SP2
nvidia GEForce display card FX5600 and a flatscreen monitor GNR F173

Problem is the desktop will show the windows background picture but to the left is the Folder Tasks, Other Places and details taskbar and to the bottom the taskbar menu seems fixed even though you can resize it (properties say toolbar is NOT fixed).

This is weird - see attached bmp of the display and is driving me crazyStart Free Trial
