I figured as much but just thought I would check. Thanks.

Browse All TopicsHi All,
I have almost given up on this, but figured I would give my friends at EE a try before I do. I have a T61 Thinkpad laptop which is plugged into a docking station. I have a 17" monitor plugged into the back of the docking station which is my primary monitor.
I noticed that on the side of the laptop (not on the docking station) is another monitor socket, so I put another monitor into that. I cannot get the second one to work, no matter how long I play with the nVidia desktop settings, or the windows display settings. it doesn't get recognized at all.
Am I expecting too much from the graphics card? Can the laptop do this? if so, any ideas would be appreciated. I don't want to use the laptop monitor as well, that is closed.
Thanks!

I had the same request from a VP not too long ago. Brand new Lenovo x301. The long and the short of it was that with the default hardware it didn't work. So, we purchased a Matrox video adapter. That worked: if you like 800x600 displays. In the end it just was not the time and money. We ended up going with a wide screen LCD.
