ceiling mount projector
Hi All
I am just about to set up 2 ceiling mounted projectors in 2 OFFICES..
Just wondering is their a limit on the Dvi cable run and speaker cable run that will be in Conduit from mounted Projector to Laptop.
Also what would you reccommend as the best way of doing this or is their a wireless option without using cables
Or what are the best Ceiling Mounted Projectors

A good quality VGA cable can be pretty long - I have used 30 and 50-ft ready made cables from ramelectronics.net, and I have made my own 75-ft version with 5 RG-6 quadshield coax cables with converters on each end. The VGA cables that typically come with inexpensive monitors are too cheap to go farther than 10 ft.
You can use www.amx.com gear for all your audio/video and many other automization needs..............
Or , if you have RGBHV inputs, you can run RGBHV Video cable - ussialy can go easy 30-70 feet, without quality loss.
Go above that- you will need to convert signal to RF, send it over coax............
>You will not be able send HD quality over VGA longer then 7'...........if you go above 10'- regardless of "cable quality" you will start loosing signal, and Red/Blue/Green will be getting out of sinc.
Nope - I don't know if you haven't personally seen good HD sent over 10 feet, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. Go visit www.avsforum.com and see what the professional installers have to say. I run SXGA over a 35 foot VGA cable to a projector showing a 100-inch screen at home and I don't see any quality loss. I have also constructed an RGBHV cable using 75-foot RG-6 cables and it worked fine with 1280x1024.
The Optoma ex525st has a very short throw, producing a 100-inch image from 4 feet. It is pretty good for classroom use, but has no zoom and has a brightness uniformity problem, due to the short throw of the lens: http://www.projectorcentra
The ep752 has similar brightness and native resolution, but includes a manual zoom lens. It also has a six segment color wheel, which may result in more accurate colors.

DVI is limited to about 15 feet in theory, but you can actually go farther, depending on the quality of shielding in the cable. I had a cheap 30-ft cable that worked, but showed green "sparklies" in dark areas of the screen, which was due to it picking up interference. Speaker cable you can run for over a hundred feet, as it is not line-level and not subject to electronic noise, unless you run it near a strong source. There are wireless VGA transmitters, but they are expensive and will cost you hundreds of dollars, perhaps even more than your projector.
