How do I install an Sh file in Linux Fedora 8?

I have a couple of months of experience supporting Linux Fedora and Ubuntu, but I am always having a hard time trying to install something new on them.

I am trying to install a monitor on a PC that has Fedora 8 installed on.

The installer that came in the CD says "setup.sh" but I don't know what to do with it. I tried doing my search but the answers are not very clear.

- How do I run this file?
- What do I do to share the screen with the 2 monitors, like you do it in Windows?
