Asked by Noobie1 in Video Cards, Computer Displays / Monitors, Windows XP Operating System
Hi,
Recently changed the graphics card on my desktop fitting a Sapphire Radeon HD3850 512MB card. The card is AGP. Had to get a lead to switch from DVI to VGA and all seemed fine (the prev card was VGA only). When I installed the drivers from the CD bundled software scrolling on Excel, Firefox, IE etc was sluggish and jerky so decided to get the latest drivers from sapphiretech.com to see if the issue could be fixed. The latest drivers sorted the problem but then soon after adjusting the resolution on the desktop the computer crashed (no error message just restarted and windows wouldnt boot).
Now when I attempt to boot up I get the message whether I'd like to go to last known good config or boot normally. Selecting boot normally shows the windows logo load up and the ticker but soon after the screen just goes blank. Not sure whether theres a conflict somewhere, older drivers were uninstalled but maybe something else causing this problem
Any help greatly appreciated!
