Sunlight readable display for in-vehicle use

Has anyone got a source for a good sunlight-readable display for in-vehicle use? Preferably a portable in the 8.4 to 12 inch range that can be held on the lap or mounted on an arm rather than a desk-standing unit. A bonus feature would be an integrated touch-screen but I can live without it. Also, if this is just a display, controller, and backlight inverter, I can fabricate a suitable case for it.

There are a couple of folks that sell units like this but there are >>$4000 which is just ridiculous.
