Replacing the screen on Acer TravelMate

I have a tablet PC. (Acer TravelMate) the model number escapes me at the moment.  The right side of the screen is just a jumbled mess, so I assume the monitor is going out.  My question is, Do I have to buy a special Touchscreen monitor to replace it, or is that a seperate component.  I think the manufacturer of the touch portion is Wacom.  When I look at this image.. (http://www.wacom.com/_shared/images/tabletpc_a_slot.jpg" It looks like the touch screen and the monitor are separate things.  is that true?
