Is it possible to only show things as unread on the BB? When I get back to my desk have the items as unread in Outlook?

Can you verify this:
Open the Mail, then open the menu and goto "Options", then goto "Email Reconciliation" .
The option "Wireless Reconcile" must be turned on. Otherwise when you want to update your BB and mailbox you have to "Reconcile" manually.
The option "On Conflict" lets you decide who has the last word BB or Mailbox.
