Greetings-
This is a two part question basically. For a year now we have been running BES 4.1.1 using the Domain admin account since it was installed under that account. It's worked without any problems so far minus one way Calendar Sync. Outlook calendar to BB calendar works but BB calendar to outlook calendar doesn't.
I did a little research and it seems that I need to have a BESAdmin account setup with some specialized privileges. I followed the instructions on creating the account but when I migrate the services over to the new BESAdmin account it basically broke everything in the sense that our BB's were no longer sending or receiving messages. All of the services started up but in the event logs I'm getting a "<SERVER NAME> agent 1: Will not restart- reached the maximum of 10 restarts per 24 hours" However if I run all of the services under the original Admin account everything seems to be fine minus the Calendar sync issue of course.
I did some more research and I read on blackberry forums that if you ran an upgrade to the service under the new BESAdmin account that it should correct the DB problem and allow calendar syncing both ways. So last night I upgraded to BESserver 4.1.6. No luck. In fact I have a few more issues in the event log that pop up, but I will research those separately. The one issue that persisted through the upgrade is the issue with the "<SERVER NAME> agent 1: Will not restart- reached the maximum of 10 restarts per 24 hours" error. If I change the services to run under the domain admin account everything works but the calendar synch issue that I originally set out to fix still does not.
System Information:
- BES Server is a Windows Server 2003 SP2 sitting on a ESXserver 3.5 snapshotted prior to the upgrade last night. (And reverting back to pre-upgrade (BES version 4.1.1) is possible but unsure of the impact on our users)
- Our domain is a SBS 2003 SP2 w/Exchange SP2
My questions are these:
1: Is there a way of getting Calendar sync to work both ways running under the Domain admin account? If so this would be the most viable solution to getting this off of my plate.
2: If not how do I migrate from the Domain Admin account to the BESAdmin account?
