You have a few options.

1. If this is for work and they have a blackberry enterprise server, you can activate it on the BES and it'll all happen over the air (wireless sync)

2. If this is personal, you can install the desktop software that came with it (or you can download the newest version from blackberry.com) This will sync messages as they arrive in your outlook to your device.

3. If you only care about email, you can setup a free BIS (blackberry internet service) account. This will cause blackberry to sign into your mail account (using pop3/imap) and fetch your email that way. You could instead create an email accout with blackberry for the device and forward your email to that address to get the mail to appear on your device.

thank you.

my customer claims that when her husband sends an e-mail from blackberry (bb) it arrives in the sent mail folder in Outlook?

is this possible?  i don't see how.  i just called Sprint and said this would not happen.

No, she's probably nuts. Or maybe she somehow drag and dropped the msg into the sent folder...

can you provide a reference that I can show her.  i have been cramming on freakin bbs all last night and thi s a.m., learning more about wireless sync, email sync, desktop, etc.

i know this is getting quite demanding, heck i'll give you the points and then if you happen to have time and come across the reference where it says something like:

'only the inbox mail folder is synchronized, other folders are not synched.'

have a great day if i don't hear from you

thanks but if can can find a reference on this i would be eternally grateful.

Well it depends on how you have it setup. With a BES, all folders are sync'd. With BIS, if it's doing IMAP or POP3, it'll sync the inbox, sent and deleted; if you're just forwarding emails to it it'll only 'sync' the inbox. If you have the desktop client, it should sync everything like the BES.

But a new incoming email is just not going to show up in your sent folder unless she has an outlook rule to put it there, or she moved it manually.

thanks, she's BIS/POP/Outlook 2003 arrangement of a home user.

husband is BES

does that explain why her Outlook Sent folder may not be synced and his would be?

i guess the husband is IMAP which is why his Outlook behaves as it does.

sorry my first encounter with IMAP

i think i get what's going on.

thanks for your help sir
