Browse All TopicsI have recently setup Microsoft Exchnage 2003 (SBS 2003) for a client. The users have Blackberry's setup to retrieve mail off the Exchange server via POP3. Any time they receive an e-mail, it first appears in Outlook and then a few seconds later in the Blackberry.
The problem occurs when they receive the e-mail on their Blackberry. Once the e-mail is received by the Blackberry, they suddenly show as "read" in Outlook.
How do I fix this so that e-mails appear as UNREAD in Outlook even after being received on the Blackkberry? I found info from Blackberry on "E-mail Reconciliation" that sounded like it would fix the problem, but it did not work.
Thanks for any help on this problem.

Hi jdera: I looked over those articles. Manually marking the e-mails "Unread" on the Blackberry is not an option - there's just too many.
Garycutri: Verizon's Blackberry Support also suggested switching to OWA rather than POP. I will test that this week and award points when I see if it works.
Thanks for the assist!
I believe you may had missed what was in the one link I noted:
http://www.blackberry.com/
jdera - The "Wireless Reconciliation" did not seem to work. I found references to that several places, but it did not fix the problems in this case.
garycutri - Using OWA seems to be the fix. We do have OWA running. However, I have been unable to switch the accounts! If I delete the account on the Blackberry, it no longer gives me the option to use OWA when I try to re-setup the e-mail accounts. If you are familiar with how to work around this, please let me know.

Are they opening the emails automatically on their Blackberry. If so, then it may just be synchronizing what is happening.
