Browse All TopicsWe have an intranet web application that we use for customer communication. It uses integrated windows authentication and IP filtering. We are connecting to a BES 4.
The application was developed in Cold Fusion. When i use the Blackberry Browser it will not let me click on any of the links.
When i use Opera because of the Proxy servers the traffic is sourced from an outside IP address, i realize we could open op the IP sope to include Operas servers but that would be a security risk.
Are there any browsers out there that will go straight to BES and not use proxys?
Ideally i would like to use the blackberry browser, i know its now very powerful but this is for basic data retrival.
Any ideas?

Hi, Opera Mini actually is passing through your BES\Proxy and establishing a connection to another proxy server on the web. If you allow access via your firewall to the Operas servers anyone who uses Opera Mini will have access to your site (obviously they would need to know the address) as you mentioned. How many users do you have on your BES? As you are on BES 4.0 you are entitle to upgrade to Blackberry Professional (i.e. BES 4.1.4.17) for free which provides a better\more compatible web surfing experience than BES 4.0. Also if your BES is currently configured to point all MDS traffic to an internal proxy server you can put in your intranet site and set it to go direct.
