Browse All TopicsMy computer has XP and Office 2000. Recent purchase of a BlackBerry Storm requires Office 2003 or above for compatibility, in order to transfer contact and other data to the BlackBerry. . BlackBerry Desktop Manager apparently includes Roxio Media Manager. The BlackBerry software has been installed, and works with the BlackBerry device. I am now trying to install Office 2003.
Installing 2003 results in conflict between the Windows 2003 installer and the Roxio Media Manager. The conflict halts the 2003 installation, and creates Roxio alarms and other displays that cannot be removed. Cancelling them results in recycling, over and over. Attempting to delet them via software removal in Control Panel, or the several desktop methods, including rebooting, do not work. Other software can be opened (example: a Word document or Quicken), but the Roxio displays remain on top of them.
One Roxio display states it is acquiring needed information. Its green progress bar moves to about 60%, then stops. Then another Roxio display states that the path for this info cannot be found. The path is identified as:
c:\documenrts and settings\owner\application
Thank you for your help. I am not a software engineer, so answers in English would be appreciated. The objective remains to remove the alarms, install Office 2003, and synchronize my BlackBerry Storm PDA with Outlook and other data sources in my computer.
