I have a client with a Blackberry storm that was set up using the Blackberry internet service to connect 3 mail boxes, 1 being an exchange account in his domain on a windows 2003 Small Business Server with SP 2 installed.
He can receive the emails on his Blackberry without a problem, and his email account authenticates ok in his BIS account, but every time he tries to generate or reply to an email within the same domain for the exchange account he gets the following error:
The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator.
< smtp01.bis.na.blackberry.c
om #5.0.0 smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 554-'5.1.0 Sender Denied' (delivery attempts: 0)>
They are filtering emails in Exchange to block emails that come from the same domain to eliminate spam - I might not have said it right but I put in an exception with this particular user and there is still a problem. They are also running Symantec Mail Security 6.0 on their Exchange server.
I am not sure where the issue lies exactly. According to the BIS account the phone is connecting via POP3, not IMAP. It CAN connect over IMAP if I force it, I believe.
Any ideas as to why the user can't send emails from the device would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lucy
