In my experience with the iPAQ for I worked with Compaq for two years, trouble-shooting them. The only way you can get more commonly used PCMCIA cards to work on the IPAQ is seeing if the manufacture has Pocket PC 2000/2002 drivers. That's the only way. I also have seen when you insert the PCMCIA card into the IPAQ, and the message pop's up unrecongized card, please input the driver name. Try inputting pcmcia.dll, and see if that works.
Either then that, that's pretty much it.
