The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Does Blackberry Mail connector redirect attachments

Asked by jiggamoose in Handhelds and PDAs, Blackberry Operating System

Small office here.

2 users with Blackberries (8700 and 7290) - doesn't make sense for us to setup Blackberry enterprise server.

We used to use desktop redirector - however the biggest problem with that was the fact it would not forward attachments with emails.

We are now using the Internet Service Version 2.0 - The corporate email accounts are setup on the blackberries via IMAP - and users CAN receive attachments.  However, they have found this particular setup to be very inconsistent.  Sometimes they will get messages, often they will not receive messages for long periods of time.  It just seems completely erractic.

By the way our wireless carrier is Rogers Wireless.

I have talked to their tech support about it - they indicate that the blackberry server on their end can contact our server no problem - so I have no idea why the service is so erractic.

So I was thinking about setting up the accounts with the Mail Connector instead of going thru IMAP.  I just wanted to know if the mail connector is like Desktop redirector and will NOT forward attachments.  I cannot find any documentation on this and Rogers Wireless Tech Support says they don't offer support for Mail Connector.

If Mail Connector does not support attachment redirection then it won't be effective for our users.

Does anyone have know the answer?

Thanks
