Save configuration on Symbol/Motorola MC9090

At work we have 8 Symbol MC9090s running Windows CE 5.0. Our guys that use them though don't seem to know how to keep them on the charging dock so quite frequently they will loose all battery power and cold boot. Is there a way for me to flash the ROM after configuring the scanner so when it's cold-booted it will start up the way I configure it?
