My IBM ThinkPad R51 is full because of backups in the "pre-windows" Access IBm section

Hello Experts
My 24 Gig harddrive has less than a 1 Gig available, and it is starting to behave as such. I don't even have many files on it anymore. The problem is with the backups on/in the IBM Rescue and Recovery portion. I have backed up a couple of times over the years and the backups total up to equal a big portion of my 24 Gigs of hard-drive space.

My problem is that when I press the "Access IBM" button during startup to take me into the rescue and restore area where I can see my backups, there is no obvious way to delete them on any of the screens -- could someone walk me through the process of deleting them ( I assume that it is done in the Access IBM section that I reach by interrupting the normal startup by pressing the blue button at the prompt)?

The backups are not stored in the "pre-windows" partition ==> they're stored in the main partition (that's why the disk is full).   The R&R partition just contains the program that accesses the backups.

You need to run the R&R program from within Windows and change the settings.   Personally, I'd just disable the automated backups altogether ... you SHOULD backup your PC frequently ==> but NOT on the same hard drive partition you're using (this does NO good if the hard drive fails !!) ... get a nice external hard drive for that purpose and backup regularly.
