Hi friends !
I have a HP 530 Notebook PC. Currently Windows Vista Home Edition is installed on it. It was installed by default. I tried to installed Windows XP Professional so I used the Windows XP bootable CD and booted from CD. Sometime after booting, I received the following message...

Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.
Setup can not continue. To quit setup, Press F3.

But you see that Windows Vista is already running on the laptop. Then I went to run--->msinfo32.exe
In the System Information...under Components--->Storage, I found the SCSI and IDE node.
In the SCSI, driver entry (driver path) was -----------> C:\WINDOWS\system32\driver
s\msiscsi.
sys
In the IDEI, driver entry (driver path) was -----------> C:\WINDOWS\system32\driver
s\intelide
.sys
I also went in setup and under Diagnostics--->HDD Self-Test Options, and tested the HDDs. Tests were succeeded.
Following are the System Configurations:
Notebook Model: HP530 Notebook PC (GH637AA#UUG)
Processor Type: Genuine Intel (R) CPU T2050
ROM Date: 04/21/2007
ROM BIOS Version: F.01
Will you please tell me what may be the problem ? Why I am not able to install Window XP Professional Edition ? Do I need to install IDE/SCSI Controller ? Do I need to search for drivers for controllers on
www.hp.com site ?
Waiting for your replies...
Thanks,
Hemant
