One of my employee's laptops crashed (Compaq Evo N1000v). It is a pentium 4 and was running XP. I purchased a new hard drive and installed it. Unfortunately, when I try to restore from the restore disks, the CD drive does not work. In the bios, it is set to boot first from the multi bay first. I can hear the CD start to spin but then it slows down and it continues this pattern. The laptop just comes up with a black screen saying non-system disk. It appears to me I have a bad CD drive. If that is the case, is there any other way for me to restore or re-image the harddrive. I assume my 3.5 drive works but I can't imagine how may floppies I would need to copy the 3 restore cds onto them. I guess that could be a fall back plan. Who knows, maybe it's not the CD and I'm just a dope who's missing something. Thanks in advance if any of you can help!!! Brett
