The Solution Rating System

  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Hi EE

I am getting a VPU Recover Message on a Dell Notebook

It reads:

VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.  Please tell ATI Technologies about this.
***

For the past few weeks, almost daily, this Notebook shows the computer screen having black and white lines all over the screen (in sleep mode).   When the user is finally able to put the password in,  the above error message is shown.  The screen is then full of black and white 'blotches' for want of a better description and the computer is then very slooowwww.  It just seems like it is going to die.

Can you help please?
