Toshiba Laptop "White-Out" and restarts

I have an old Toshiba Laptop Satellite M35x-S311.  I have reformatted it (Win XP) and have reloaded all the original drivers.  It has been running fine and then 2 strange things happen out of nowhere.  Three different times the screen went "white out".  Completely turning white in about 2 to 3 seconds.  In a separate incident it restarted itself, twice each time when FireFox was opening.  In both of these instances there was no warning, no BSOD, and no notices that it recovered from any error, no temp files or minidumps produced after it happened.  Right now it seems to running fine.  Any explanations on this one?Start Free Trial
