The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. I have a question I have a sony vaio s460p and the fan started making a lot of loud noises and I bought a new one to replace it. While I was taking the computer apart I followed all the precautions I was on a esd blanket and had an esd braclet.  I accidentily pulled off the blue pieace that connects to the ribbon cable that gets plugged in to the motherboard from the keyboard I don't know what it is called and I can't push it down all the way. The second mistake after I got the fan put on and put everything back togeather again the power ribbon cable I pushed it in but apperntly I pushed to hard and I bent the last pin on the right hand side by like 1/16 of an inch so I tried to cut the bent part off to trim it up and I'm able to put it in the power slot on the motherboard. The problem I'm having is after I get everything put togeather again when i press the power button the power light near the touchpad comes on the cd drive will eject the harddrive spins up but I get no display. I have taken the computer apart again to make sure that everything was plugged in and it was. Now I think the problem has to be something to do with those 2 ribbon cables but I could be wrong before I go and spend 80$ on 2 ribbon cables I wanted to get a second opinon what do you guys think if I bought 2 more ribbon cables do you think it will fix the problem or is there anything else you could think of that I overlooked please let me know thank you
