Sony Vaio Visual Communication Camera (Motion Eye) Driver
I have recently purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-Z11WN laptop. I downgraded it to XP. The motion eye camera does not work. In device manager it shows a yellow ! next to Sony Visual Communiction Camera under imaging devices. I have downloaded the driver package from Sony and install still the same.

Camera Error
We downloaded the full driver package from the sony website and followed the instructions (order of install etc). We have installed all the chipset drivers. Please see attached a screen shot of the USB roots

Go to this page and scroll down and click the proceed button, then on the next page scroll down to click the accept button.
This will take you to the individual driver download page. These are for the asian VGN-Z1 models but are virtually the same as yours.
On the third page scroll down to number 18 in the list and download the camera.exe file and follow the instructions to install.
Here is a comment from Sony concerning XP downgrades and some of the things that won't work when running XP.
"Please note that when installing either of the Windows XP versions, users may no longer have access to some preinstalled software or will not be able to use some of preinstalled functions.
Below are the functions that are confirmed to be unusable once users downgrade to Windows XP on VGN-Z1 Series:
1. HDD Protection function cannot be used
2. Fn+F9/Fn+F10 function cannot be used.
3. HDMI function maybe cannot be used.
4. RAID function cannot be used.
5. When switching the graphics mode such as from Speed mode to STAMINA mode the system will not prompt to restart the unit. Please restart the unit manually immediately."
