Have you tried uninstallig the newly installed hotfix from that system. If no, then try that and let us know. And if yes, then try doing the below:

1) System Restore
2) Start > Run > type 'sfc /scannow'
3) Repair OS

Update/upgrade to SP3? on those specific two laptops?  If it only does it on those two specific laptops, and all the other laptops are the same?(make and models?)...
To me it sounds like a driver or patch/update/bios issue.  I would try making sure all the updates and patches have been implemented.  Make sure the revision of the bios etc, are up to date or the same as the ones that appear to not have this issue.
Only other thing I can think of is if windows has some other issues behind the scenes.  Driver corruption, or virus and spyware infection etc.  As stated by pspqlb is to do Start/run/ sfc /scannow to make sure the drivers are all clean and not corrupt or incorrect etc.

Otherwise another simple test (to test hardware or software issue)...drop a clean load of windows on a spare hard drive and insert into the laptop and see if you get the same issues.  If it works, then it most likely was a software issue.  If it still reboots, then most likely a hardware/bios issue.

Hi,

There is some problem with certain docking stations, those with metal hooks on cause they can cause a discharge when computer is docked and computer reboots. If ya search on Lenovo site you can find info there. The solution is to get plastic covers on the hooks.

hope this helps

Also if you have tried the uninstalling the hotfix, have you made sure the system's versions of the bios are up to date, or at the same version as the ones that are not showing this problem?

Also thought about Service pack 3?

by: optimaltestPosted on 2009-01-08 at 06:01:10ID: 23324812

I published ~10-15 hotfix so I don't know what to uninstall

by: WakeupPosted on 2009-01-08 at 06:35:37ID: 23325238

OK how about as stated earlier using the system restore feature?  And go back to prior to the week you installed the 10-15 hotfixes?  Then from there either one by one install each hot fix till you either see the problem, then go back and restore before that one...skip that hotfix, and move on to the next?

Or as I stated earlier, double check bios versions and driver versions of the said laptops and compare with counter parts that work?

Or SP3....?

Can you give us an Idea of what you've tried?  I keep saying the same things over, and so have some of the others, and we havent got any full responses....
Did you do the sfc/scannow?
tried repairing os? etc.....
Hard to tell what you have and haven't tried....and if you have tried it were you able to see any difference or any change in behaviour?  or ....
