Is there an indicator for CAPS LOCKS in those systems?
Here is the caveat though: Perhaps the 1555 is different the other Studio 15s I've seen? Hmmm. I certainly hope they wouldn't make such a huge change in the same series, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I´m aware that in the Studio 1555 is controlled by Quickset when you´re in windows, but what about outside of Windows, if I start in MS-DOS? is there any indicator that tells me the system has caps lock activated?
Without using the numlock, you should also be able to just hold FN instead (FN will give you access to any secondary functions on keys with blue text). For what it is worth, there's also an LED right above the numlock key.
If you don't have access to the numlock numbers though, you can't do it. Although, you could buy a USB numpad (mentioned above) or settle with using Start > Run > charmap.exe
If you just needed accents however, you may be able to get away with manipulating some accessibility settings with Chinese unicode. I can't remember what was involved, but I've seen it out there on the net.
