You can probably remove the CMOS battery from the laptop which may clear BIOS Password.

Not entirely sure where the CMOS Battery is in that model, try checking underneath the memory module. Otherwise a quick search should provide some instructions.

on modern laptops, you need to KNOW the password (anti-theft) - it is not kept in the bios chip, but in a security chip
it cannot be reset easily; you must turn it in to HP, show proof of ownership - then they can help !  (not free !)
sometimes, the mobo is replaced !

i agree with psy053 there is a way, to get to the cmos battery, dont forget all computers are fitted with 2 batteries, one is a cmos battery, and the other is a power battery. standard pc's dont have an power bttery, laptops do. but all computers have a cmos battery, to get to the cmos battery requires a lot f time, you wuld have to void any warranty or insurance on it, but to remove the cmos, turn the laptop over, remove all screws, feel around stickers, to find any more hidden screws, check the corner stubs as sometimes there are screws under them. flip the laptop t the right way carefully, and check the number s on the keypad carefully, you should see 3 latches, tht is to unhinge the keyboard, in which you need to do. use a tiny negative screwdriver and carefully unhinge the keyboard, then carefully flip the laptop to its back and lift the back casing away, you should be able to access the keyboard latch, and unlatch that. then carefully remove any obstructions, then look for a watch battery, that is the cmos battery, remove that battery for 15 minutes. after 15 minutes are up. replace everything carefully, following the instructions in reverse. and switch on. best thing to do is to film yopurself while doing this so yuou can remind yourself where what goes where. let me know if you do this successfully.

In modern laptops you cannot remove the BIOS password by resetting the CMOS.  You must do as nobus suggests.

depending on if its an older type laptop or a modern one, there are ways of doing these. but i think the question was to get the bios password back, and i think he doesn't want to lose his work, usually when you take it to a shop. they would peform a master reset.

If you think removing the CMOS Battery is worth a shot, I have found the following site that details the steps to pull the 8510P apart.

Obviously, you don't need to perform all the steps, only the ones that will provide access to the battery:
