Vertical thin white line appears on lcd. Disappears if I lift the loose casing on the laptop

Laptop is missing a few screws from various repairs.

Why would this happen if there is a little pressure applied to the  right hand side of the keyboard?
A short or video card on the way out?

model/make of the laptop ?
what kind of repairs ?
did you do them ?

ether way since this is a hardware issue I am afraid you might have to take it back for repair/service
but most likely it is as you said.

The previous techs had no shame.
They left 6 screws missing on the back !

Was just wondering if anyone wanted to guess what this is. Its intermittent. The problem goes away if the side case is pulled appart slightly.

I think the connector going from the display towards the mobo is not well fitted. If the keyboard bezel and keyboard are easily removable, you can fix this yourself. But should really try and get hold of those screws they didn't put in!
