I know DELL has a dos app that you can use to change the service tag, or they might also call it the asset tag. You could call their support line and ask for it.

I made a bootable cd with the .exe file. boots up in dos but doesnt give me the option to run from the CD drive :( ...therefore i did the following...
I then booted in safe mode with cmd line, ran the exe file, and got the following message window:
utility:dell asset.com w/dkms dos
version A01
for poweredge:430sc
on not applicable
this program contains 1 floppy disk image
this program could not find a floppy drive on this system
EXIT
