I usually back up, but I went on a trip and my laptop crashed as soon as I got home. I noticed at the airport that it was acting a bit strange. It once got stuck processing the minimize graphic (window transforms from open to closed). When I got home, I opened my laptop and worked on it a bit and closed it. The next morning, it wouldn't boot.
It gets stuck at the MS load screen.
Since I really want access to my files, I thought I'd boot from a disk using Live GNOME. I was able to do this, but when I tried to access my drive, it gave me an error message and instructed me to log out of windows or to preform the following command:
mount -t ntfs-3g/dev/sda2/media/SQ0
08691V02 -force
I don't know if it is possible to access a command line prior to loading vista. I'm guessing not.
I've tried pressing F8 and booting through:
"Repair Your Computer"
"Safe Mode"
"Safe Mode With Command Prompt" - which hangs at \Windows\system32\drivers\
crcdisk.sy
s
"Last Known Good Configuration"
"Debugging Mode"
and
"Disable Diver Signature Enforcement"
Any suggestions?
