My laptop is getting antiquated and I need to transfer everything over to a faster desktop.

Answer: There are many ways to do it .
 1) USB to USB direct connect cable Transfer the data over
 2) Ethernet cross over cable trnasfer the data over
 3) Pull out the hard drive and use a mini ide to ide adapter and hook up the laptop
 Hardrive to the pc and tranfer the data ..
 4) Use a USB hard-drive and ghost 2003 to make an image the laptop and use ghost explore to extract the data from the ghost image on to the new desktop ..
  Note: I don't recomend ghost the laptop harddrive image on to the desktop .. with different hardware configurations between the 2 computers will cause alot problems even if you get it to boot .. the new machine will continue to have problems.

Thanks, But I found the file transfer wizard in xp and it looks like that will do the trick.

             I have successfully transfered the files but for somereason outlook soes not have all of the correct e-mail settings.
Is it impairative that I install all of my programs on the new machine first.
