Able to hear sound through headphone, but couldn't hear the sound, when i remove my headphone

I can listen to music or anything else only through headphones. Otherwise without headphones, i not able to listen to anything. Please help me to figure out the problem.

What OS are you using? You should have a small speaker icon near the clock on your taskbar (if Windows) Double click that and check your volume levels/settings.

check in device manager if the sound card is listed properly, without exclamation marks or red crosses.
Also: what Os are you running?

Sounds like a problem with the switch in the output socket. Normally internal speakers are shut off when a plug is inserted in the output socket. This switch can break and not reconnect the speakers on plug removal.

Thanks for your response.

I am using Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. I checked my volume control and PC Card, they are fine.

rid, is there any solution for it. One more problem, one day suddenly I heard sound through internal speakers and again it went off.

Sorry, but I think this is a thing that needs physical repair or replacement of the connector. Perhaps it can be repaired under the warranty?
