The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Laptop does not boot and the screen is blank and shows no video

I have a Compaq 2525US that is about 2.5 years old. I left the laptop off for several hours and when I returned I was not getting any video from the screen and from what I can tell it's not booting at all. The LED lights don't flash. I tried opening the DVD-ROM, but it would not open. The LED for the DVD-ROM is flashing.

Sometimes when I turn it on the CAPS LOCK, NUM LOCK, and SCOLL LOCK LED lights will come on. Other times they won't. I'm at a loss as to how to start troubleshooting this problem.
