need driver for multimedia audio controller on cf-48 laptop with win2000

My Panasonic CF-48 Laptop has no sound and the Multimedia Audio Controller is marked as not working in device manager windows 2000. Can someone please direct me to a site which will have the Driver for this device; or tell me what needs to be done in order to get this device working.

Did you recently re-install Win2k?

Is the multimedia controller the only conflict in Device Manager?

Have you done all updates from Windows Update?  Sometimes this will automatically find the drivers for devices that Win2k did not originally know about -- particularly when you do SP4.

Otherwise, do as oldgreyguy suggested & get the current drivers from Panasonic's site.

If you know what the sound chip actually is you can look up the drivers that way.
