Sound Driver for HP Pavilion DV2000

Dear Experts,
I have HP Pavilion DV2000 notebook it comes with MS-VISTA OS I formated the computer and installed widnows XP SP2 while trying to setup dirvers everything went ok except sound coz there is an update and it is must be installed before the sound driver. When I have downloaded the sound driver update patch it wound't install I double click the file and try to run it cleses. I configred the HP Pavilion DV6000 before and all went ok. I also tried to run the update file in my pc it worked.
could you please tell me why it's not runing in my notebook?

What submodel is it? Do you know what type of sound casrd you have? Look on the bottom of the laptop for a small sticker, and it will tell you the product number and should match one of the model numbers at the above link....

I think you might need the Microsoft HD audio patch.  I had to do this for a laptop just the other day.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111

the audio card is AC 97 Realtek and I have installed the patch. but still

Dear All,
I would like to thank you for your efforts. I found the solution for my problem it's very sample, I installed a driver software from another vendor (Intel) for the same chipset and it works.
