Touch pad mouse freeze after awhile

My dell note books about 7 years old worked fine till now.
Now when I use it, after a while  I find the mouse and keyboard freezes.
I get a several  pop up window by itself ( viz like the ones when we press the right mouse in Window).

The problem  appears when I disable the touch pad and use the external mouse.

I have run the Adware and Spyware programs no help.
Ran Knoppix on the machine and the same sort of problem appear after a while.

Currently Running WinXP as OS.

Any help and pointers will be appreciated.
