Question

Panasonic Toughbook Cf-18 Booting issue

Asked by: seaweed27

I have a Panasonic  Toughbook Cf-18 to try and get working.  The Bios sees , processor, harddrive and memory. When it boots it takes me to the safe mode screen. No matter which optoin i choose it takes so long to load that i dont even know if it will load. For example the Windows XP boot screen has been loading for 30 min now. The blue line is moving, So i assume it is not hung. I would normally try to wipe and reload, however it appears/I assume the OS is booting from an image?? The Panasonic  Toughbook Cf-18 i was given dpsmt have cd rom so i cant drop a dick in and start from scratch.  It does have USB posrts though.
Any advice would be appreciated.

You can attach the dumps here...... We might be able to find the culprit.....

Or, if you would like to learn it on your own......

The Offline Crash Diagnostic tool for Windows XP is available

BSOD Hell & How to Fix it
http://bluescreens.homeserver.com/BSOD/Windows_Blog/Entries/2007/9/9_BSOD_Hell_%26_How_to_Fix_it.html

If you get Dumps, then the Windows Debugger is usually adequate to read the crash dumps...Takes a little practice though....

WinDbg
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx

Use the Microsoft Symbol Server to obtain debug symbol files
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311503
(so you dont need the full symbol packages for each OS, and SP....)

Course you can pull out the HDD and slave it to another PC (might need an adapter), or use a BartPE bootable (or pendrivelinux), to extract the dumps......
